And they glorified God because of me. -- Galations 1: 24

Because of Me?

  I wonder, God, if because of me,
  Others have given praise to Thee?
  I wonder if something Iíve said or done
  Has increased Your Kingdom by even one?

  I wonder, too, God, if I qualify
  As a reason for others to glorify
  You, O God, as they see in me
  The love and mercy that comes from Thee?

   I wonder if because of the way I live
  Others their thanks to You will give?
  Help me, God, in all I say and do
  To be one in whom others can see You.

Burden Bearer

 Cast your burden upon the LORD, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. -- PROVERBS 55:22 (NASB)

Cast your burden upon the Lord

  And you He will sustain;
  O, what peace and joy are mine
  When I this promise claim.

  I go to Him with everything
  That makes my heart despair;
  All my sins, grief, doubts and fears
  I take to Him in prayer.

  He always listens patiently
  To all I have to say;
  I ask Him to take control
  And work things out His way.

Then there comes a peace so sweet

  Into my troubled breast;
  For I know that He has heard
  And answered my request.

  Yes, cast YOUR burden on the Lord,
  And you He will sustain;
  Heíll give to you a peace so sweet
  That words cannot explain.

He Carried

The Cross

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. -- Hebrews 12:2

What made Christís cross such a heavy load,

As He carried it on the Calvary road?

Because on that road to Calvary

  Jesus carried that cross for you and me.

All the weight of our burdens and sin

  In that cross was laid on Him.
  He suffered so much from the hands of men;
  Still, He carried the cross for them.

He stumbled and fell upon the road;

  Another was called to help carry His load.
  He continued on to Calvary,
  And there He died for you and me.

Our sins went with Him to His death;

  And nothing against us, then, was left.
  We only need to accept and believe,
  And eternal life we will receive.

But we, too, must be willing to bear

A cross for others -- their burdens to share--

  To help them make it to Calvary
  Where they, too, can be set free.

Free from their sin and hopelessness,

  As they surrender to Him and confess
  That He, alone, their savior is;
  No longer their own, they have become His.

And, then, they, too, must take the cross

  And bring to Jesus those who are lost.

Lost that because they donít understand

  That God, in Christ, became a man.

To live on earth, to suffer and die,

  Then to rise again and thus glorify
  His Father above our Father, too,
  Who offers new life to me and to you.

Back to Him this new life we give;

  No longer for ourselves, but for Him to live.
  Willing to serve Him by helping others,
  Who, in Him, are our sisters and brothers.

Oh, Lord, help us to hear Your call

  To bear others crosses lest they should fall
  Beneath their load of sin and care;
  Help us, O Lord, to always be there.

And in Your Name be willing to lift

  The burdens of others, sharing the gift
  Of eternal life You offer to all,
  Who, in Your Name, on the Father will call.

That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, "WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED." -- ROMANS 10:9-11(NASB)

CONFESSION

If with your mouth you will confess

  And in your heart believe
  That Jesus is the risen Lord,
  Then peace you will receive.

Belief in our heart makes us right with God;

Confession confirms our salvation.

  All our hope is in Christ our Lord.
        He is our firm foundation.

Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned as it were with salt, so that you may know how you should respond to each person.  Colossians 4:6

    GRACIOUS WORDS

    Let your words be gracious;
    Seasoned as with salt;
    Then you will always be sure
    To say just what you ought.

    Salt will bring out flavor,
    Giving food a better taste;
    Words, too, will be better
    When they are seasoned with grace.

 "Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind" -- Mark 12:29-30

LOVE JESUS

Oh, you say, it is so hard

    To live the Christian life;
    The devil tempts you oft to sin
    And causes you such strife.

    Oh, it is so hard to say
    NO! To satan and sin
    Old habits are so hard to break;
    They just keep creeping back in.

    There is a way to overcome
    And have victory every day;
    It is by loving Jesus and
    Doing things His way.

Love Jesus when you are tempted to sin;

    Love Jesus, be strong, say, YES! To Him;
    Do nothing that will bring pain to His heart;
    Do nothing of which He canít be a part.

    His love is always faithful and true;
    And you know He never stops loving you;
    So love Him and new strength you will win
    To help you live each day without sin.
